St Mary's Church is undoubtedly one of the landmarks that make Barnes so special. But it is no mere monument. It is home to a thriving community that reaches out to people of all ages. It ministers to their spiritual, emotional and human needs. Through Sunday worship, baptisms, weddings, funerals, community meetings, Sunday school and other classes, and through pastoral care, St Mary's helps to provide a firm foundation for life in an uncertain world

Our worship recognises the breadth of Anglicanism, with traditional and modern, reflective and informal services. We take pride in strong connections with the Anglican Church beyond England, in Africa in particular. In our prayer life we give thanks for all the good things we receive from God, express our sorrow for our failings and look forward in hope to the future

In all we do we keep in mind our objectives of providing worship that is vibrant and affirming, welcoming and supporting people of all ages and Christian traditions, having a clear and vigorous mission programme, and working closely with all the other Christian churches in Barnes
